Job summary

Foundation Risk Partners in Austin, TX is hiring an Underwriter for our Apartment Insurance Consultants team. You will support underwriting activities under the Director of Underwriting, maintain carrier relationships, and provide technical expertise to assist the Account Management team.

The role requires 3+ years of P&C underwriting experience, strong knowledge of commercial coverages, and relevant designations. Proficiency in MS Office and excellent communication are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Property & Casualty underwriting experience.
• Strong knowledge of commercial insurance coverages, risk assessment, and underwriting principles.
• Professional designations (CPCU, AU, CIC, ARM) preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Business, Finance, Insurance, or related field preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Review carrier renewals and maintain carrier relationships and communications.
• Gather account and historical data; prepare and distribute Requests for Proposal (RFPs).
• Review carrier proposals for accuracy, completeness, and competitiveness.
• Maintain knowledge of current insurance market trends, conditions, competitive intelligence, and product and service innovations.
• Interact collaboratively and professionally with colleagues, clients, carriers, and business partners.
• Perform other duties including underwriting, quoting, account servicing, claims support, inspection ordering and loss control recommendations.
