Qualifications

  • Six years of professional underwater archaeology field experience.
  • Master's degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, Maritime Studies, or related field (may substitute for experience).
  • Successful completion of scientific diving program (AAUS or equivalent).
  • Boating Safety Education Identification Card from Florida FWC.
  • Experience conducting submerged cultural resource surveys including remote sensing and underwater site recording.
  • Knowledge of state and federal submerged cultural resource policy and legislation.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of up to five professional staff.
  • Oversee underwater field projects and administer permits.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
