Job summary

CKGP/PW & Associates, Inc. seeks an automotive engineering contractor in Dearborn/Long Beach to design and release underhood trim components.

You will mature concepts into production-ready designs, define packaging and interfaces, and lead supplier and tooling kick-off activities. You will plan testing, perform DFMEA analyses, and resolve issues across water management, sealing, noise, and thermal concerns.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (required).
• 5 years of experience with automotive underhood components (leaf screens, cowl screens or related parts).
• Experience from design concept through tooling, testing, verification and launch.
• Working knowledge of 3DEXPERIENCE (3DX) and DFMEA.

Responsibilities

• Develop and release underhood trim components (leaf screens, cowl screens, etc).

• Resolve issues involving water management, debris protection, fit, sealing, noise, vibration, and thermal/environmental exposure.
• Support prototype and production builds, engineering changes, manufacturing readiness, and launch.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of 3DEXPERIENCE (3DX) and DFMEA?
• Additional relevant skills: underhood environmental conditions (heat, water, debris, chemicals, vibration, aging); plastics and other applicable materials, molding processes, sealing, drainage, and retention strategies; cowl, windshield, hood, wiper, HVAC, and body interfaces; water-management testing, durability validation, noise concerns, and serviceability; tooling reviews, part inspection, and production corrective action?
