EDAG is seeking an UNDERHOOD TRIM DESIGN & RELEASE ENGINEER to develop and release underhood trim components such as leaf and cowl screens. The role covers maturation of concepts into production-intent designs, interface definition, material selection, and performance validation in a fast-paced automotive environment.

You will lead supplier and tooling kick-off activities, coordinate testing, and manage DFMEAs to mitigate risks, ensuring robust, production-ready designs for Dearborn/Long Beach

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
• 5 years of experience with automotive underhood components preferred.
• Experience from concept through tooling, testing, verification, and launch desired.
• Working knowledge of 3DEXPERIENCE and DFMEA required.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and release underhood trim components, including leaf screens and cowl screens.
• Mature concepts into production-intent designs and released product definition.
• Define packaging, interfaces, attachment strategies, materials, and performance requirements.
• Lead supplier and tooling kick-off activities; review tooling progress and corrective actions.
• Plan and coordinate testing, verification, and validation against functional and durability requirements.
• Develop and maintain DFMEAs; identify risks and ensure mitigation actions are completed.
• Resolve issues involving water management, debris protection, fit, sealing, noise, vibration, and thermal/environmental exposure.
• Support prototype and production builds, engineering changes, manufacturing readiness, and launch.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree inEngineering.
• 5 years of experience with automotive underhood components, particularly leaf screens, cowl screens, or related parts
• Experience from design concept and maturation through tooling, testing, verification, and launch
• Working knowledge of 3DEXPERIENCE (3DX) and DFMEA
• Additional relevant skills: underhood environmental conditions (heat, water, debris, chemicals, vibration, aging); plastics and other applicable materials, molding processes, sealing, drainage, and retention strategies; cowl, windshield, hood, wiper, HVAC, and body interfaces; water-management testing, durability validation, noise concerns, and serviceability; tooling reviews, part inspection, and production corrective action
• Location: Dearborn Michigan or Long Beach California
• English (C1-C2)
