Job summary

ITG Communications, LLC is seeking a Utility Locator to identify and mark underground utilities to support safe excavation practices across projects in the field. You will read maps, use locating equipment, and document findings to prevent dig damages while coordinating with contractors and field teams.

The role requires outdoor work, a valid driver’s license, and compliance with OSHA and 811 regulations. You will contribute to safety, accuracy, and timely service delivery on every project.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in utility locating, construction, telecom, gas, water, or electrical preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Knowledge of One-Call systems, 811 regulations, and underground utility infrastructure a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform underground facility locates in accordance with company, state, and utility standards.
• Read and interpret maps, prints, GIS records, and work orders to determine utility paths.
• Use locating tools and equipment (e.g., transmitters, receivers, toners) to accurately mark underground utilities.
• Document all locate activities, including sketches, notes, photos, GPS data, and completed work orders.
• Respond to routine tickets, emergency locate requests, high-priority projects, and re-marks.
• Communicate clearly with contractors, homeowners, utility providers, and internal teams.
• Maintain equipment, tools, and company vehicles in proper working conditions.
• Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with OSHA, 811 guidelines, and state One-Call regulations.
