Job summary

USIC is seeking field locators to identify and mark underground utilities across assigned areas. This is a full-time outdoor role requiring safety awareness and the ability to work independently in varying weather, with a strong training program and advancement opportunities.

Starting pay ranges from $20.00 to $30.00 per hour based on experience, with overtime and on-call shifts as needed. A company vehicle and other benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Proficiency with technology.
• Available to work overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed.
• Able to pass a drug screen.
• Valid driver's license and a safe driving record.
• Able to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Able to distinguish between colors used to identify wiring.
• Able to read, understand locate tickets, maps and prints.
• Able to communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners.

Responsibilities

• Correctly, safely, and efficiently locate underground utilities, including telecommunications, electric power, cable TV, gas, water, and sewer systems.
• Thoroughly search for underground utilities in a designated area, accurately marking the location, completing the necessary documentation, and photographing each locate.
• These are daytime, full-time positions with a 48-hour turnaround on many locates; overtime, weekend shifts, and on-call shifts may be required.
