Responsibilities

• Technicians use locating equipment by holding a receiver weighing up to 5 pounds.
• Techs drive from job to job using a map and GPS device; read maps and document work orders.
• Techs walk on all types of terrain and mark ground and roadways for each job order.
• Techs work outside in all weather conditions and communicate with excavators and team members about underground facilities.
• Techs may enter confined spaces and handle manhole lids weighing up to 150 pounds to locate buried lines.
