Job summary

ITG Communications, LLC is seeking a Utility Locator to identify and mark underground utilities, using locating equipment, maps, and work orders to support safe excavation and construction.

You will read maps, interpret GIS data, document locate activities, coordinate with contractors and field teams, and maintain safety compliance with OSHA and state regulations in a dynamic, outdoor field role. This is a safety-sensitive position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Experience in utility locating or related fields preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Perform underground facility locates in accordance with company, state, and utility standards.
• Read and interpret maps, prints, GIS records, and work orders to determine utility paths.
• Use locating tools and equipment to mark underground utilities.
• Document locate activities with sketches, notes, photos, GPS data.
• Respond to routine tickets, emergency locate requests, high-priority projects, and re-marks.
• Communicate with contractors, homeowners, utility providers, and internal teams.
• Maintain equipment, tools, and company vehicles.
• Ensure safety compliance with OSHA, 811 guidelines, and state One-Call regulations.
• Report mismarks or safety hazards.
• Support team members and field operations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
