Job summary

ITG Communications, LLC is seeking a Utility Locator to identify and mark underground utilities, ensuring safe excavation and construction. You will use locating equipment, maps, and work orders to determine utilities’ presence and paths, supporting field operations and public safety.

The role requires reading maps and GIS records, documenting activities precisely, and collaborating with contractors, homeowners, and internal teams while maintaining safety and OSHA/811 compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in utility locating preferred.
• Knowledge of One-Call systems and 811 regulations is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Perform underground facility locates in accordance with company, state, and utility standards.
• Read and interpret maps, GIS records and work orders to determine utility paths.
• Use locating tools to accurately mark underground utilities.
• Document locate activities with sketches, notes, photos, and GPS data.
• Respond to routine tickets, emergency locate requests and high-priority projects.
• Communicate clearly with contractors, homeowners, utility providers and internal teams.
• Maintain equipment, tools and company vehicles; ensure safety compliance.
