E-Z Bel Construction, LLC is seeking a Utility Laborer to assist underground utility crews in San Antonio, TX. The role involves trenching, pipe installation, bedding, backfill, and material handling, with a focus on safety around trenches and equipment.

You will support Pipelayers, Operators, Leadmen, and Foremen, handling materials and tools, setting up trench protection, and maintaining efficient crew production in outdoor environments.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years construction experience preferred, with underground utility or heavy civil construction preferred.
• Ability to follow direction from Foremen and experienced crew members.
• Basic understanding of underground utility materials and jobsite conditions.
• Willingness to learn pipe types, trench safety, bedding, compaction, grade, utility markings, and safe work around excavation.
• Ability to use basic hand tools and layout tools under supervision.
• Strong safety awareness including PPE, trench hazards, traffic control, confined space awareness, silica exposure, and equipment movement.
• Physical strength and stamina to work outdoors in demanding conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with trenching, excavation support, pipe installation, bedding, backfill, and compaction.
• Stage and organize underground materials and supplies.
• Support pipe zone preparation and proper material positioning.
• Prepare pipe with tools as trained.
• Set up trench protection and access points under supervision.
• Maintain safe trench conditions and operate small equipment when trained.
• Assist with traffic controls and safety practices.
• Ensure clean, organized, and safe work areas.
