Job summary

Staker Parson Companies in Draper, UT, is seeking an experienced supervisor for underground utilities. You will organize daily fieldwork, direct a crew of up to five, and ensure safety and quality on civil construction projects.

Requirements include 5–10 years in underground utilities with at least 3 years as a crew leader, a valid driver's license (CDL a plus), strong plan-reading skills, and the ability to operate multiple heavy equipment pieces. Competitive pay and benefits provided.

• Monitor job cost
• Perform other essential duties as assigned by supervisor
• Ability to manage up to a five man crew installing underground utilities while adhering to company policy regarding equipment & safety.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

Language Skills

• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

• Ability to add, subtract, multiple and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ration, percent, land to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to calculate elevation and slope from construction stakes. Ability to calculate quantities of materials used on the job site.

Reasoning Ability

• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, written or oral instructions

Computer Skills

• To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to type and use keyboards accurately and have knowledge of Database software.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• Trenching/shoring competent person certification and OSHA 30-hour certification is a plus.
