Valenti-Held is seeking an experienced Utility Excavator Operator in Whitestown, IN to support underground utility crews on site development projects. You will operate excavators, perform trenching and backfilling, and assist pipe installation while maintaining safety and productivity.

Qualifications

• Experience operating excavators in underground utility or site development work preferred.
• Familiarity with excavators, skid steers, loaders, and other construction equipment.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work in varying weather conditions.
• Strong commitment to jobsite safety and safe excavation practices.
• Effective communication with supervisors and team members.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening and physical examination.

Responsibilities

• Utility Excavator Operation: Dig trenches and excavations for storm sewer, sanitary sewer, and water line installation.
• Trenching & backfill: Perform precise trenching, bedding, and backfilling per specs and grade requirements.
• Pipe installation support: Coordinate with pipe crews to place underground utilities safely.
• Grade control: Maintain line, grade, and slope using laser, GPS, or other systems.
• Equipment maintenance: Daily inspections and safe operation of excavators and related equipment.
• Site safety: Follow company safety policies including trench safety and utility locating.
• Collaboration: Coordinate with foremen and crew to complete work on schedule.
