Job summary

Sellenriek Construction is seeking an experienced Hydrovac Operator to safely operate a vac truck and support underground utility crews in Jonesburg, MO. This is a hands-on field role requiring CDL and experience in excavation and vacuum excavation.

The operator will pothole, daylight, and locate lines while following prints and jobsite layouts. A CDL is required, with strong emphasis on safety and reliable performance.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL required.
• Vacuum/hydro-vac operating experience in underground construction.
• Ability to operate vac truck independently and safely.
• Experience potholing and daylighting utilities.
• Understanding of water pressure, vacuum excavation, and debris handling.
• Ability to work around congested or active utility areas.
• Experience operating boom, hoses, water system, vacuum system, and debris tank.
• Commitment to daily inspections, cleaning, and maintenance.
• Willingness to perform labor and crew duties as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate a vac truck or hydro-vac to expose underground utilities.
• Complete potholing and daylighting before drilling or excavation begins.
• Read and follow utility markings, prints, bore plans, and jobsite layouts.
• Inspect hoses, tanks, pumps, water systems, and vacuum equipment before operation.
• Clean and maintain the truck and equipment at end of shift.
• Assist with hand digging, spotting, traffic control, cleanup, and general labor as needed.
