Job summary

RP Constructors, LLC is seeking an Underground Operator to inspect and ensure the integrity of plumbing installations during construction and after project completion. You will excavate near utilities, align and position pipes, check slopes, and handle backfill, reading drawings to confirm layouts.

Responsibilities include trenching to grade, maintaining safe operation of equipment, and traveling to varied site locations as needed. High school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Driver's License is required.
• Must be able to work long, flexible hours including weekends.
• Ability to meet physical demands of the job: lift 50 pounds, standing for long periods.
• Willingness to travel to different locations and work in a variety of weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Excavation near existing utilities.
• Align and position pipes/drainage structures to prepare them for installation in a trench or excavation.
• Check slopes for conformance to requirements.
• Handling excavated & backfill material.
• Excavate trenches to grade at required depths and proper slopes.
• Proper backfill techniques to keep pipe on grade as well as sustain the desired pipe circumference/shape to obtain compaction.
• Operate the machine in a safe and efficient manner around the work areas.
• Understands and watches/checks machine control, gauges, fluid levels & lubrication daily.
• Other duties as assigned.
