Job summary
A utility locating company is seeking reliable Locate Technicians to identify and mark underground utilities. This role involves outdoor work and provides comprehensive paid training. Key responsibilities include using specialized equipment, documenting work accurately, and ensuring safety compliance. Candidates should have a high school diploma and a valid driver’s license. Experience in related fields is preferred but not required. This position offers on-the-job training to prepare candidates for success.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and customer service abilities.
Comfortable working outdoors and on foot for extended periods.
Ability to follow procedures, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
Willingness to travel locally and work occasional overtime or weekends as needed.
Responsibilities
Use company-provided tools and equipment to identify and mark the location of underground utility lines.
Read and interpret utility maps and diagrams to determine location of buried services.
Accurately document work performed and complete reports using laptops, handheld devices or tablets.
Communicate effectively with contractors, homeowners, and other utility personnel.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and company procedures.
Work independently in outdoor environments under various weather conditions.
Maintain company-issued equipment and vehicle in good condition.
