Job summary

Benchmark Utility Services is seeking hardworking Construction Dry Utility Laborers to join the field team. This outdoor, physically demanding role supports underground utility and site construction projects while ensuring safety and high quality.

You will work with crew members and foremen to perform a variety of tasks, operate tools, and help install piping and conduit, with opportunities to grow within the company.

Qualifications

• Construction or labor experience preferred.
• Able to perform physically demanding work in various weather conditions.
• Comfortable working in trenches, confined spaces, and around active utilities.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to follow safety protocols and company policies.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual labor to support site and utility construction projects.
• Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Perform work for underground dry utilities.
• Load, unload, and transport materials, tools, and equipment.
• Clean and prepare job sites, including debris removal and site restoration.
• Excavate trenches and perform manual digging around existing utilities.
• Assist with installation of piping, conduit, and other utility infrastructure.
• Support skilled tradespeople and equipment operators as needed.
• Report equipment issues and perform light maintenance on tools.
• Follow all safety procedures, participate in daily safety briefings, and use required PPE.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
