Job summary

Kapp Companies is hiring an Underground Utilities Foreman in Ogden, UT. You will lead field crews, oversee water, sewer, secondary water, and storm drain installations, and ensure safe, on-time execution with high quality.

Requirements include 5+ years in underground utility construction, 2+ years operating heavy machinery, and 3–4 years of supervisory experience. Benefits include health, life insurance, paid vacation, holidays and a 5% 401K match.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in underground utility construction including sewer, water, secondary water, and storm drains.
• At least 2 years operating heavy machinery (excavator, loader, etc.).
• 3–4 years of supervisory experience supervising a crew of up to 5+ workers.
• Ability to understand blue stakes and interpret utility markings.
• Ability to read/read and interpret plans and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Lead field crews on installation of water, sewer, secondary water, and storm drains.
• Coordinate crews and heavy equipment to ensure safe, on-time, quality work.
• Manage jobsite materials, supplies, and daily work plans.
• Maintain vehicle and equipment cleanliness and maintenance.
• Report to Project Manager daily and perform other duties as assigned.

Pay:

$28.00 - $40.00 an hour depending on experience

Position Summary:

You will serve as a key field leader, driving the successful execution of underground utility, pipe-laying, and civil infrastructure projects. In this role, you will lead field operations, coordinate crews and heavy equipment, and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

• Report to the Project Manager daily
• Responsible for leading crew on installation of water, sewer, secondary water, and storm drain in new housing developments and / or civil projects
• Effectively manage jobsite and crew while ensuring the job is done safely, on time, and within budget
• Ensure that tools and supplies are replenished and prepped for each day and secured each night when leaving the job site
• Maintain cleanliness and maintenance of company provided vehicle, and / or equipment
• Other duties as assigned by Project Manager

Required Skills and Experience:

• Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in underground utility construction installing sewer, water, secondary water, and storm drains
• Minimum of 2 years’ operating heavy machinery (excavator, loader, etc.) experience
• Minimum of 3-4 years#39; supervisory experience of a crew of up to 5 plus individuals in the underground utility construction field
• Ability to understand “blue stakes” amp; what the various colored markings are for each utility
• Must be able to read, understand, and interpret plans amp; blueprints
• Ability to safely operate all types of heavy equipment used on jobsites
• Must be literate with smart phones amp; tablets as they are used for clocking in, and out each day – previous experience using CrewTracks a plus
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. continually throughout the day
• Comfortable with exposure to various weather conditions
