Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or relevant work experience.
• 5+ years underground estimating experience.

Responsibilities

• Consult with vendors and engineers to discuss estimates and resolve issues.
• Analyze plans to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
• Prepare estimates for vendor/subcontractor selection.
• Discuss changes with engineers, owners, contractors and subs.
• Create estimates used for planning, organizing, and scheduling work.
• Document cost and expenditures for the project duration.
• Track actual costs vs bids and assess cost effectiveness.
• Establish cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures.
• Conduct cost studies to develop standard data and reduce costs.
• Review material and labor requirements to decide make vs buy.
• Collaborate with estimating team to predict project timescales.
• Estimate final costs including overhead and profit for tender pricing.
