Job summary

EDM International, Inc. is seeking an Underground Transmission Line Inspector/Observer for field-based work in Downtown Denver, CO. You will oversee daily field construction, inspect work for conformance to drawings and specs, and compile detailed daily reports.

Candidates should have 5+ years in transmission or underground utility work, urban-inspection experience preferred, and knowledge of OSHA regulations. Proficiency with Procore, ArcGIS, or Field Maps is advantageous.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day field construction for underground transmission line projects.

• Create accurate daily inspection reports.
• Collaborate with contractors and internal teams to resolve discrepancies.
• Observe and document field tests (concrete, soil).
• Maintain contract docs, permits, and as-built drawings.

Underground Transmission Line Inspector

Location: Downtown Denver, CO (Field-Based)
Company: EDM International, Inc.
Pay Rate: $45-$55/hour

What You’ll Do

• Oversee day-to-day field construction for underground transmission line projects.
• Conduct inspections to verify all work meets drawings, specifications, and project standards.
• Create accurate, detailed daily inspection reports.
• Collaborate closely with contractors and internal teams to resolve discrepancies.
• Observe and document field tests, such as concrete and soil testing.
• Maintain contract documents, permits, and updated “as-built” drawings.
• Participate in construction meetings and coordinate with local officials, right-of-way agents, and permitting authorities.
• Uphold and promote a safety-first culture, taking corrective action when needed.

What You Bring

• 5+ years of experience in transmission, distribution, or substation line work.
• Prior underground utility construction and inspection experience — especially in urban settings — preferred.
• Strong knowledge of construction principles, specifications, and OSHA regulations (especially trenching/shoring).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Procore, ArcGIS, or Field Maps a plus.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and adaptability skills.

Work Environment

• Field-based work across both urban and remote project sites.
• Requires walking up to three miles per day, climbing, bending, and working in varied weather.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and safely operate a vehicle for field inspections.
