Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in underground construction activities (fiber optic, conduit placement, trenching, or utility installation).
• Ability to supervise crews, manage jobsite safety, and solve field issues proactively.
• Willingness to undertake heavy travel across Utah and surrounding states.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily field operations for fiber optic installation, trenching, conduit placement, and utility work.
• Direct crew members, assign daily tasks, manage equipment/materials, and enforce OSHA safety standards.
• Coordinate traffic control, road closures, and work with project managers, utility companies, inspectors, and clients.
• Track daily production hours, maintain job reports, troubleshoot construction challenges, and ensure projects stay on schedule and under budget.

A Day in the Life

As an Underground Telecommunications Foreman, you will oversee daily field operations for fiber optic cable installation, trenching, conduit placement, and utility work.

• Direct crew members, assign daily tasks, manage equipment/materials, and enforce OSHA safety standards.


• Coordinate traffic control, road closures, and work closely with project managers, utility companies, inspectors, and clients.


• Track daily production hours, maintain accurate job reports, troubleshoot construction challenges, and ensure projects stay on schedule and under budget.


• Traveling schedule based on project demands (e.g., M–F or 2–3 week travel rotations across Utah and surrounding states).
