Your main responsibilities will include assembling, installing, and maintaining underground ductile iron piping systems.

Job Description

Responsible for laying out, fabricating, assembling, installing, and maintaining piping systems, supports, fixtures, and equipment for various industrial systems.

General Requirements

• Observe and comply with safety and project rules

• Manage tools and materials responsibly
• Read and interpret instructions and perform activities independently

Functional Requirements

• Select pipe size and type per specifications
• Inspect worksite for obstructions and structural integrity
• Plan installation sequence to avoid conflicts
• Cut, thread, and bend pipe
• Mount hangers and brackets
• Assemble and install various pipes and fittings
• Join pipes using threaded, soldered, brazed, fused, or cemented joints
• Secure pipes to structures
• Install and maintain refrigeration and HVAC systems
• Test piping systems for leaks
• Weld supports to steel structures
• Assist in lifting and positioning materials
• Perform minor maintenance on tools and equipment
• Use respiratory protection when required

Qualification Standards

• 1-4 years of relevant experience
• Pre-employment qualification test
• Post-offer drug/alcohol screening and physical
• Complete orientation quiz
• Meet safety and health standards

Physical Requirements

• Pass physical exam
• Climb ladders, scaffolding, and work at heights
• Carry up to 50 lbs
• Stand and walk for extended periods
• Work in confined spaces and various weather conditions

Work Environment

• Industrial construction sites and fabrication shops
• Work at elevations and in confined areas
• Exposure to outdoor elements and noise
