Shah Development, LLC is seeking a dependable, experienced Pipe Layer to join our growing construction team in Christiansburg, VA. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, hardworking, and takes pride in delivering high-quality underground utility installations.

Responsibilities include installing underground water, sewer, and storm drainage pipes, preparing trenches, reading blueprints, and working safely around heavy equipment. Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in pipe laying or underground utility construction preferred.
• Ability to read construction plans and grade stakes.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and working in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Install underground water, sewer, and storm drainage pipe according to plans and specifications.
• Prepare trenches and ensure proper grade, alignment, and bedding of pipe.
• Assist with excavation, backfilling, and compaction.
• Read and interpret blueprints, grade stakes, and project layouts.
• Work safely around heavy equipment and communicate effectively with operators.
• Perform routine inspections to ensure proper installation and compliance with project requirements.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, safe worksite.
• Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
