Job summary

Blackhawk Mining, LLC is seeking a Mine Examiner to conduct pre-shift and on-shift examinations of surface and underground areas to ensure safe conditions before workers enter the mine.

The role involves checking surface belt systems, airways, bleeder points, recording findings, and supervising the elimination of hazards related to roof, dust, gas, equipment movement, and power distribution. Equal Opportunity Employer.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of underground (UG) mining experience.
• Minimum 2 years UG examination experience.
• Thorough knowledge of underground mining practices, equipment and procedures.
• Familiar with State and Federal mine laws and company policy.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Physical examination of surface and underground work areas (three hours prior to men entering the mine).
• Identify and supervise elimination of hazardous conditions derived from roof, dust, gas and material handling.
• Taking air velocities, checking mine gases and recording findings of mine condition.
• Conduct pre-shift and on-shift examinations including review of examiner's book, equipment and section conditions.
• Other duties as assigned.
