Job summary

Network Connex seeks an Underground Fiber OSP Laborer to support construction, installation, and maintenance of underground fiber infrastructure. The role emphasizes physical stamina, safety awareness, and the ability to travel extensively while working outdoors.

You will assist in all phases of underground fiber OSP construction, including trenching, conduit placement, HDD support, and site cleanup, following project specifications and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CDL preferred.
• Experience in underground utilities, fiber OSP, HDD, or construction is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of underground safety practices, including 811/One Call locates.

Responsibilities

• Assist in underground fiber OSP construction, including loading/unloading materials and setting up tools.
• Support HDD operations, drill setup, bore support, and jobsite cleanup.
• Install underground conduit, handholes, vaults, and fiber-optic cable per specifications.
• Perform vacuum excavation and potholing to locate utilities safely.
• Read utility locates and construction prints to prevent damage.
• Travel to project locations up to 80% of the time, including overnight assignments.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment per OSHA and company safety standards.
