Job summary

Five Star Energy Services is hiring a Field Inspector - Underground Fiber to perform on-site inspections and QA for underground fiber projects. You will verify trenching, conduit placement, and fiber installation while ensuring adherence to design specs, safety regulations, and permits.

Travel locally as needed and document findings thoroughly. Ideal candidates have 2+ years in underground utility inspection, proficiency with plans and specs, OSHA knowledge, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• 2+ years in underground utility or fiber construction inspection.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, maps and specs.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and local permitting requirements.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel locally.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections of underground fiber installation including trenching, boring, conduit placement, and fiber cable installation.
• Ensure contractors follow plans, safety protocols, and permit requirements.
• Document field activities with reports, photos, and inspection logs.
• Identify deficiencies and ensure timely correction.
• Coordinate with project teams to resolve field issues.
• Verify location of existing utilities using as-built plans and locate services.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections and communications.
• Use GPS or GIS tools to capture field data.
