Niels Fugal Sons Company is seeking a Field Inspector Level 3 to oversee safety, quality, and technical accuracy on underground and aerial fiber projects. The role audits subcontractor submissions to ensure billing aligns with field production and coordinates with city officials, utilities, and customers for smooth field changes.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in telecom construction, utility locating, or field inspection, plus a valid driver’s license and a technical or engineering

Qualifications

• Requires knowledge of NESC standards and vertical clearance regulations.
• 3–5 years hands-on experience in telecommunications construction, utility locating, or field inspection.
• Valid state driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred in a technical or engineering area.

Responsabilités

• Drive a company vehicle between multiple active construction sites daily.
• Audit aerial and underground fiber placement for safety, quality, and accuracy per standards.
• Communicate professionally with the public, homeowners, and officials about access, permits, and closures.
• Manage several projects simultaneously, coordinating travel and timelines across crews.
• Inspect completed work to verify installations and restore surfaces to original or better condition.
• Apply knowledge of aerial/underground telecom construction principles and equipment placement.
• Audit subcontractor daily logs to prevent billing discrepancies by cross-checking field footage.
• Maintain detailed field documentation with GPS photos and redline changes.
• Enforce safety-first culture and stop unsafe traffic control setups or digging when needed.
