Job summary

Douglas Fast Net is seeking a fiber construction technician to join our underground drop crew. The role involves heavy physical labor, operating underground equipment, and ensuring safety on site.

You will read construction prints, troubleshoot issues, and maintain customer rapport while promoting DFN services. The ideal candidate can lift up to 100 pounds occasionally, maintain a clean driving record, and is willing to pursue a Class A CDL within 6–12 months.

Qualifications

• This position is heavy physical labor requiring lifting up to 100 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds frequently.
• Clean driving record with valid license.
• Willingness to obtain a Class A CDL within 6 months to 1 year where required.
• Professional appearance and customer service mindset.
• Ability to troubleshoot construction hurdles in the field.
• Reliable, punctual, and dependable with a strong work ethic.
• Willing to work after hours and be on-call in urgent situations.
• Pre-employment drug screen and ongoing compliance as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Operate hand and power tools for site prep, trenching, backfilling, and landscaping.
• Maintain a safe work environment and follow codes, standards, and regulations.
• Read and understand operator manuals for equipment.
• Inspect and maintain equipment and report issues for repairs.
• Interact with customers professionally and promote DFN products and services.
• Read construction prints and other engineering documents.
