Job summary

Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC is seeking an entry-level Underground Distribution Groundperson to support construction, maintenance, and repair of underground distribution systems. The role focuses on safe grounding work from ground level and learning utility procedures while supporting crews.

You will perform tasks with energized or de-energized lines, communicate with property owners, and follow regional safety guidelines. A CDL within 90 days is preferred and travel may be required for storms.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow directions, work safely & productive.
• Problem solve with unidentified circumstances on any job.
• Identify, operate and service all required tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform new construction, maintenance or repair work of energized and de-energized underground line work from the ground level.
• Ensure daily testing and inspection of tools and equipment.
• Excavates to install structures or cable as required by contract specifications.
• Communicate work to public and private property owners professionally.
• Follow regional safety guidelines and policies in all tasks.
• Operate tools such as bucket truck, digger derrick, tensioners, puller, rollers, hand tamp, chainsaw and more.
• Report potential equipment and crew safety hazards to Foreperson.

Underground Distribution Groundperson

A entry-level position building towards a career in maintaining and repairing underground distribution and transmission systems.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

• Perform new construction, maintenance or repair work of energized and de-energized underground line workfollowing company established Safety and Health standards from the ground level.
• Ability to problem solve with unidentified circumstances on any job.
• Ensure daily testing and inspection of assigned tools and equipment.
• Maintain company equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Excavates to assist in the installation of structures or cable as required by contract specification.
• Will have contact with public and private property owners to professionally communicate work to be performed.
• Participates in company training of all regional safety guidelines and is required to perform all work by the regional safety policies.
• Operates various tools for the work (manual digging devices, wrenches, hammers, come-alongs, jack hammer and hand-line etc.).
• All other duties as required or requested by Supervisors.
• Reports all potential equipment and crew safety hazards to Foreperson.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to:

Education & Experience

• Ability to provide proof of work experience, schooling, and other certifications obtained during career.

Pre-Screen

• Upon offer, employees may be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.

License & Certifications

• Driver License Required, willingness to obtain a valid CDL within 90 days of employment preferred.

Travel Requirements

• Willing to travel out of state for emergency storm work.
