Utility Lines Construction Services in Forest Park, GA seeks a Groundperson to support construction, maintenance, and repair of underground distribution and transmission systems. This entry‑level role offers hands-on training and opportunities to advance within the utilities sector.

Responsibilities

• Perform new construction, maintenance or repair work of energized and de-energized underground line work following company safety standards.
• Communicate work details to public and private property owners.
• Ensure daily testing and inspection of assigned tools and equipment.
• Maintain company equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Travel as required for emergency storm work.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

• Perform new construction, maintenance or repair work of energized and de-energized underground line workfollowing company established Safety and Health standards from the ground level.
• Ability to problem solve with unidentified circumstances on any job.
• Ensure daily testing and inspection of assigned tools and equipment.
• Maintain company equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Excavates to assist in the installation of structures or cable as required by contract specification.
• Will have contact with public and private property owners to professionally communicate work to be performed.
• Participates in company training of all regional safety guidelines and is required to perform all work by the regional safety policies.
• Operates various tools for the work (manual digging devices, wrenches, hammers, come-alongs, jack hammer and hand-line etc.).
• All other duties as required or requested by Supervisors.
• Reports all potential equipment and crew safety hazards to Foreperson.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to:
  • follow directions, work safely & productively.

Education & Experience

• Ability to provide proof of work experience, schooling, and other certifications obtained during career.

Pre-Screen

• Upon offer, employees may be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.

License & Certifications

• Driver License Required, willingness to obtain a valid CDL within 90 days of employment preferred.

Travel Requirements

• Willing to travel out of state for emergency storm work.
