Underground Distribution Groundperson: An entry-level position focused on maintaining and repairing underground distribution and transmission systems.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities
  • Perform construction, maintenance, or repair work on energized and de-energized underground lines following safety standards.
  • Problem solve with unforeseen circumstances.
  • Test and inspect tools and equipment daily.
  • Maintain company equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Excavate for installation of structures or cables as per contract.
  • Communicate work details professionally with property owners.
  • Participate in safety training and adhere to safety policies.
  • Operate various tools like manual digging devices, wrenches, hammers, etc.
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned.
  • Report safety hazards to the Foreperson.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be 18 or older.
  • Follow directions, work safely, and productively.
  • Operate required tools and equipment, such as bucket trucks, digger derricks, etc.
Education & Experience

Provide proof of relevant work experience, education, and certifications.

Pre-Employment Requirements

Complete and pass drug screening, background, and MVR checks if offered employment.

License & Certifications
  • Driver’s license required; willingness to obtain CDL within 90 days preferred.
Travel Requirements

Willing to travel out of state for emergency storm work.

Physical Requirements
  • Rare: Sitting, Crawling, Climbing Poles.
  • Occasional: Stooping, Kneeling, Lifting up to 50 lbs, etc.
  • Frequent: Walking, Climbing on/off trucks, Reaching, etc.
  • Continuous: Standing, Speaking, Seeing, Hearing, etc.
