Job summary

Nevada Gold Mines, Carlin underground operations, seeks experienced development miners to join the UPT team for high-profile development projects. You will work in small, collaborative teams to safely deliver development on time and budget.

Ideal candidates have underground mining background, plus heavy equipment experience, and a proactive safety/environmental record. Rotating 5/4 or 7x7 schedules may apply, with strong commitment to teamwork.

Qualifications

• Two plus years of underground mining experience preferred.
• Previous heavy equipment operation experience preferred.
• Ability to work safely and effectively in an underground mining environment required.
• Stable, consistent work history required.
• Proactive safety and environmental track record required.
• Ability to communicate with all mine operations personnel required.
• Ability to work within a team environment, work closely with peers at all levels with a professional attitude required.
• The ability to work a rotating schedule of nights and days is an essential function of this role.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership in and accountability for maintaining safe work practices, safe workplaces, and safe operation and maintenance of all equipment.
• Read cut sheets/maps and maintain line and grade.
• Operate Two Boom Jumbo.
• Operate 6yd, 9yd, and 12yd Loaders.
• Understand different rock types and drilling/blasting procedures to minimize over-break.
• Understand and follow ground support plans.
• Operate mechanized bolter.
• Operate shotcrete equipment.
• Handle explosives and load rounds in a safe and productive manner.
• Install utilities such as ventilation ducting, air/water/discharge pipe, & electrical cables to a complete and high standard.
• Perform other duties as assigned from time to time at the discretion of the company.
• Work within a team and solve issues before they become problems.
