Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in telecommunications or utility construction.
  • Valid driver's license, CDL preferred.

Job description

What you'll do
  • Install underground telecommunications cabling
  • Direct, coordinate, train, inspect, and monitor crew members to ensure correct placement/repair of underground telecommunications cable, according to contract and process specifications
  • Ensure employees meet safety, quality, and production goals in compliance with company standards
  • Operate diesel or gasoline-powered equipment to and from the jobsite
  • Locate underground cable
  • Perform flagging, property or worksite restoration, and general construction work, including physical labor (e.g., using hand tools, lifting materials up to 50 lbs), under supervisor guidance
  • Inspect trucks and equipment for defects
  • Read prints and interpret utility maps
  • Maintain daily production sheets, OSHA logs, and other reports
  • Perform other duties as necessary

Who we are looking for:
  • At least 18 years old
  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • Prior experience in Telecommunications or Utility Construction/Maintenance (3+ years preferred)
  • Valid driver's license (CDL preferred)
  • Ability to operate utility trucks, equipment, and hand tools safely
  • Ability to read prints and interpret utility maps
  • Ability to follow directions and produce quality work while maintaining safety standards
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs as needed
  • Availability to work overtime, weekends, and in all weather conditions
