Job summary

Pike Electric, LLC is seeking a Cable Splicer to construct and repair underground electrical systems. You will work on energized and de-energized lines and may travel to different job sites, including out-of-state locations, as required by operations and customers.

You will report to the Foreman and lead crews in the absence of the Employee in Charge, while training apprentices and groundmen. Safety and readiness for outages are essential to this role.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of recent underground experience.
• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Willingness to travel long distances on short notice.
• Lift up to 50 pounds and work out-of-state assignments.
• Ability to work overtime and on-call rotations.

Responsibilities

• Perform new construction, maintenance and repair of underground systems with safety first.
• Lead crew members in the absence of the Employee in Charge and conduct safety briefings.
• Train and mentor apprentices and groundmen.
• Install and repair underground power conductors and hardware.
• Work with tagging procedures, grounding and voltage awareness on energized lines.
• Operate backhoe, bucket trucks and digger trucks; work outdoors in varied conditions.
• Be available for outages, storms and emergencies including on-call rotations.
• Perform live-line work using approved gloving and hot-stick techniques.
