Job summary

PIKE Electric, LLC is seeking a Cable Splicer to construct and repair underground electrical systems, working on energized and de‑energized lines. Travel to various job sites, including out‑of‑state locations, may be required based on customer needs.

You will report to the Foreman and lead crew in the absence of the Employee in Charge. The role involves installing underground conductors, training apprentices, and performing live‑line work with proper PPE and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Three years of underground experience.
• Valid CDL.
• Willingness to travel long distances on short notice.
• Lift/carry up to 50 lb.
• Willingness to work extended hours, weekends, and emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Construct and repair underground electrical systems (energized and de-energized).
• Lead crew in absence of Employee in Charge; conduct pre-job safety briefings.
• Train and mentor apprentices and groundmen.
• Install underground power conductors and hardware.
• Utilize tagging, grounding, and voltage testing procedures safely.
• Work in confined spaces near energized equipment.
• Operate backhoe and aerial/digger trucks and compact excavators.
• Perform outdoor work in various weather conditions.
• Be available for outages, storms, and on‑call rotations.
• Perform live-line work using approved gloving and hot-sticks; follow PPE protocols.
