  • Conducts research, analyzes data, identifies trends and builds reports.
  • Monitors budgets and develops long-term budget plans.
  • Develops and implements outreach plans, including communications, events, and conferences.
  • Provides faculty, staff and student support related to the program(s).
  • Assists with student recruitment, records, and curriculum support.
  • Designs and processes course and outreach materials in digital and print formats.
  • Maintains program websites and social media accounts.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Description
Position Summary:

The Undergraduate Programs Administrator supports a number ofinterdisciplinary programs that are housed in the Office of theDean of Humanities and Arts. They are responsible for all frontoffice functions and serves as the problem-solving point person fora variety of matters. They also support program faculty, s/hecoordinates many of the administrative functions, and specialevents activities. This position also provides website management.They are the first point of contact, representing the programs tointernal and external contacts.

The Undergraduate Programs Administrator interacts on a daily basiswith faculty, students, visitors, other university staff, andvarious individuals and organizations outside RiceUniversity.

The Undergraduate Programs Administrator provides support to theprogram directors and assists the with tasks that include, but arenot limited to: General Announcements, course offerings and courseschedules.

Ideal candidates should have strong verbal and writtencommunication skills, basic knowledge of managing budgets, theability to work well under pressure and manage multiple projectssimultaneously.

Workplace Location:

On campus position: This position is exclusively on-site, necessitating all duties to be performed in-person. Per Rice policy 440 , workarrangements may be subject to change.

Hiring Range:

This exempt position is benefits-eligible and has an expected minimum salary of $67,000 annually (dependent onexperience and qualifications).

*Exempt (salaried) positions under FLSA are not eligible for overtime.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree
    • In lieu of the education requirement, additional relatedexperience, above and beyond what is required, on an equivalentyear for year basis may be substituted
  • Two or more (2+) years of related experience
    • In lieu of the experience requirement, additional relatededucation, above and beyond what is required, on an equivalentyear-for-year basis may be substituted

Essential Functions:
  • Administers the daily operations of assigned programs withgeneral guidance by the directors and a senior staff member
  • Conducts research, analyzes data, identifies trends anddevelops reports
  • Monitor budgets and the development of longer terms budgetplans
  • Recommends and implements outreach plans, includingcommunications, events, marketing, conferences, etc.
  • Provides support to faculty, staff and students as related tothe program(s)
  • Assists with student recruitment, student records, curriculumsupport, coordinating the accreditation process
  • Designs and processes course and outreach materials both indigital and hard copy formats
  • Monitors and maintains program websites
  • Maintains social media accounts
  • Performs all other duties as assigned
Additional Functions:
  • Processes faculty reimbursements
  • Processes procurement requests such as student awards,non-employee travel reimbursements, and honoraria for guestspeaker.
  • Supervises student assistants
