Job summary
The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College Department of MPCS invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Mathematics and Computer Science, intended to begin August 15, 2027. The emphasis is on effective undergraduate teaching with a 12-credit-hour load per semester.
Courses are offered in person, online, and hybrid formats, with class sizes of 15–30 students. The role includes governance duties, ongoing professional development, and using Canvas and related
Qualifications
- Master's in Mathematics or related field with 18 grad hours in CS/IT
- Master's in Computer Science or related field with 18 grad hours in Mathematics
- One academic year of teaching experience in Mathematics, Computer Science, or IT at K-12 or college level
Responsibilities
- Teach Mathematics and Computer Science courses (incl. Provisional Algebra, Intro to Programming, Foundations of Quantitative Reasoning).
- Participate in governance, committees and search processes within the department and college.
- Engage in professional development and scholarship of teaching such as workshops and conferences.
- Utilize Canvas LMS and textbook-specific classroom technology.
- Hold regular office hours to meet with students.
- Assess student learning using best practices.
