Job Description Summary: The undergraduate research assistant will support the development of the Villanova Climate-Mobility World Model, a campus-wide digital twin for studying mobility, sustainability, climate resilience, and equitable access across Villanova’s Main, Cabrini and Rosemont campuses.
Student will work with the research team on tasks including collecting and organizing campus transportation and infrastructure data; developing GIS maps and mobility data layers; analyzing pedestrian, bicycle, vehicle, shuttle and transit activity; assisting with the development and validation of transportation simulation models; and testing "what-if" scenarios such as shuttle operations, traffic management, special events and extreme weather disruptions. Student may contribute to data visualization, dashboards, documentation and presentation of project results. Training will be provided in relevant research tools and methods.
Requirements: Junior-level undergraduate student in engineering, computer science, data science, geography/ GIS or a related field; interest in transportation, sustainability, simulation, or data analytics; basic experience with Python, GIS or quantitative analysis is preferred but not required.
Physical Demands Summary: Wage Rate: $13.00/per hr.
