Job summary

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invites applications for a full-time Teaching Assistant Professor in the Department of City and Regional Planning. The position focuses on teaching undergraduate courses, developing new courses, and supporting the department’s outreach to prospective students through the 4+1 pathway.

The successful candidate will teach a three-course load each semester (80% teaching, 20% service), contribute to the Undergraduate Minor in Urban Studies and Planning,

Qualifications

Demonstrated teaching experience at the undergraduate level or delivering professional training to large groups.
Strong evidence of competency and expertise in urban planning.
Ability to lead new and existing courses and contribute to curriculum development.

Responsibilities

Teach an 80% teaching and 20% service load with a three-course teaching assignment each semester.
Lead and develop large introductory courses and undergraduate seminars.
Support recruitment and expansion of the undergraduate Minor in Urban Studies and Planning.
Contribute to program growth and student mentoring within a diverse student body.
