Job summary

Argonne National Laboratory’s Seasonal Internship program invites undergraduate and graduate students to pursue STEM careers through hands-on research in Critical Minerals & Materials. Participants will spend the first week with a staff mentor to devise a research strategy and complete safety classes.

For the next weeks, the supervisor provides guidance to implement the plan, culminating in a poster presentation.

Qualifications

• Enrolled undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited institution.
• GPA 3.0 on a 4.0 scale required.
• U.S. citizen or Legal Permanent Resident at time of application.
• Must be 18 years or older at appointment start.
• Pre-employment drug testing may be required.

Responsibilities

• Develop a research strategy with Argonne staff during the first week.
• Implement the research plan with supervisor guidance over the internship period.
• Deliver a poster presentation at the end of the appointment.
• Attend weekly seminars and tours on science, engineering topics and career development.
