Lewis University invites applications for adjunct faculty in the College of Nursing and Health Professions to teach pre-licensure Baccalaureate nursing students in classroom and/or clinical settings, covering medical-surgical, obstetrics, pediatrics, mental health, and community health nursing. The position is non-tenured and teaching is on a per-course basis as needed.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Nursing is required.
Two years full-time clinical practice experience is required.
Current RN License in the State of Illinois is required.
Must have schedule flexibility to be available for students.
Excellent communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

Teach pre-licensure Baccalaureate nursing students in classroom and/or clinical settings.
Cover medical-surgical, obstetrics, pediatrics, mental health, and community health nursing topics.
Maintain required certifications/licensure and demonstrate ongoing competence.
Participate in course orientations and use of Blackboard and technology.
Communicate with Lead Faculty and Assistant Dean about student issues and course progress.
Post grades in a timely manner and comply with department requirements.
