Amgen Cambridge, MA invites motivated undergraduates to join our Operations Intern program for Summer 2027. This ~13-week program combines project work with hands-on learning, mentoring, and networking events to accelerate your development.

You will rotate across five Operations functions—Supply Chain, Process Development, Quality, Manufacturing, and Facilities & Engineering—leading initiatives, performing analyses, and presenting recommendations to senior leadership.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a full-time Bachelor's program with a 3.0 GPA minimum.
  • Must be located in the United States for the duration of the internship.
  • Available for a full-time schedule during the 13-week program.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a project charter with objectives, stakeholders, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Work cross-functionally to identify problems, measure the current state, analyze, and present findings.
  • Network with colleagues and participate in intern-wide poster sessions and final readout.

Undergrad Intern – Operations – Cambridge, MA (Summer 2027)
What You Will Do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. This internship will be approximately 13 weeks that includes both project-based and experiential learning. In conjunction with the project work, you will have the opportunity for professional development through training sessions, one‑on‑one mentoring, and various networking events.

Operations is divided into the following five sub- functions: Supply Chain, Process Development, Quality, Manufacturing, and Facilities & Engineering.

We are currently seeking highly motivated, hardworking individuals who will lead initiatives, strategic analysis and business case development on projects across the five Operations functions.

During this program, you will focus on making effective recommendations to the organization’s senior leadership.

Responsibilities include:
  • Develop a project charter to map out objectives, identify key stakeholders, timelines, and deliverables
  • Leveraging your analytical, leadership, and interpersonal skills, you will work cross‑functionally to identify the problem, measure the current state, develop recommendations through qualitative and quantitative analysis, and present the findings through various forums including an intern‑wide poster session and a final readout to executive management
  • Network with colleagues across the company and enjoy full access to Amgen’s Employee Resource Groups
Program Eligibility Requirements
  • Expected completion of one year of study from an accredited college or university prior to the internship commencing
  • Expected continued enrollment in an accredited college or university following the internship program
  • Student must be located in the United States for the duration of the internship program
  • Must be available to work a full‑time schedule.
  • Must be available to accept and commit to future full‑time employment by July 2028, if offered
What We Expect Of You
Basic Qualifications
  • 18 years or older
  • Currently enrolled in a full‑time Bachelor’s Degree program from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree concentration(s) in Engineering, Life Science, Chemistry / Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Applied Mathematics or Data Science
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
  • VBA for Excel and SQL knowledge
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, project management, problem solving, analytical and quantitative skills
  • Demonstrated personal initiative, self‑motivation, flexibility and adaptability
  • Proven leadership experience on campus (e.g., projects, clubs, organizations, sports)
