Job summary

Oregon State University is seeking a student employee to assist with the South Willamette Valley Field Crops Extension and Research Program. You will help set up and sample on-farm field trials and process data, with additional indoor tasks like data entry and analysis.

The role supports research on seed and cereal crops, pest management, soil health, and drone imagery. Preferred candidates have coursework in agricultural sciences and GIS experience; programming in R or Python is a plus.

Qualifications

• Preferred: Majoring in agricultural sciences or related fields (soil science, crop science, horticulture, environmental science, biology).
• Experience with GIS.
• Experience with programming in R, Python or other languages.

Responsibilities

• Assist with set up, sampling and data collection for on-farm field trials.
• Indoor work includes sample processing, data entry and data analysis.
