Qualifications

• MS and/or PhD including 18 graduate hours in chemistry, biochemistry, or closely related discipline
• Strong background and demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate General Chemistry lecture and lab, as well as introductory organic or biochemistry coursework
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and strong personal ethics for mentorship of students, for working in a team-oriented environment, and for sparking enthusiasm for chemistry
• Demonstrated passion for teaching, curriculum development, and working with students

Responsibilities

• Develop and teach undergraduate courses in General Chemistry lecture and lab, as well as introductory-level organic or biochemistry courses
• Provide professional service to students, the department, university, and scientific community in areas of mutual interest. Responsibilities could include coordinating retention/assessment efforts, tutoring, advising, internships, or K-12 outreach
