Job summary

Boyd Company is seeking an undercarriage technician to rebuild components for revenue customers and participate in the Company Exchange Program. You will disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble undercarriage parts using tooling and welding skills.

The role requires basic mechanical experience, ability to read manuals, and comfort with high-temperature environments. Overtime, training, and compliance with hazardous waste policies are included in the position.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of mechanical experience preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend repair manuals.
• Ability to use a micrometer and basic measuring tools.
• General welding knowledge and torch use.

Responsibilities

• Stand for extended time.
• Work in high temperature environments.
• Disassemble, clean, inspect, repair and assemble undercarriage components.
• Receive training on Idler Welders, Roller assembly/disassembly tooling and Track Presses.
• Work with hazardous waste; annual Hazardous Waste Training.
• Work overtime including weekends as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Compensation: up to $31.75

REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• One year previous mechanical experience
• Ability to read and comprehend repair manuals
• Ability to use micrometer and other basic measuring tools
• General knowledge of welding and the use of torch for heating and welding
• May be required to possess a Commercial Driver's License based on department operational needs

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Ability to stand for extended time periods
• Must be able to work in high temperature environment
• Assists in or directly disassembles, cleans, inspects, make repairs, and assembles undercarriage components
• Training in the operation of various machinery to fulfill reconditioning requirements to include Idler Welders, Roller assembly and disassembly tooling and Track Presses
• Works with hazardous waste and receives Hazardous Waste Training every year
• Must be able to work overtime including weekends, as required
• Performs other duties as necessary and assigned
