Job summary

Windham Mountain Club in Windham, NY is hiring Uncertified Competitive Programs Coaches for the winter season. The in-person role pays $18–$19 per hour with both full-time and part-time options, and starts are weather dependent.

Responsibilities include coaching alpine skiing, promoting safety, and supporting athlete development while taking part in PSIA/USSS certification opportunities. Must be 14+ and able to work outdoors in winter conditions.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 14 years old.
• Advanced skiing ability required.
• Strong communication and instructional skills.
• Previous racing or coaching experience preferred.

Welcome to Windham Mountain Club!

Work Location: In-person role based in Windham, NY.

Pay: $18 to $19 per hour based on experience

Seasonal Position: This role is available for the winter season.

Full Time and Part Time Positions available!

Scheduling Expectations: Peak times include weekends, early mornings, and holidays. Weekend availability is required.

Conditions: Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including rain, sleet, snow, hail, wind, and cold temperatures.

Overview of Position: Uncertified Competitive Programs Coaches help athletes develop strong skiing fundamentals, improve race performance, and achieve their competitive goals. Coaches create a safe, positive, and engaging training environment while supporting Windham Mountain Club's Culture of Excellence. Previous racing or coaching experience is preferred but not required. Training and professional development opportunities, including PSIA and USSS certification support, may be available.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work outdoors in varying winter conditions
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to safely ski or ride for extended periods
• Ability to navigate uneven, snow- and ice-covered terrain
• Ability to push, pull, bend, kneel, and reach regularly
• Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written formats
