Job summary

Triple Canopy is seeking a Supervisor to oversee security officers, manage patrols and access control, and coordinate investigations on assigned shifts in Houston, TX. The role involves planning, scheduling, supervising field operations, and maintaining client relations.

The ideal candidate will have strong writing skills, valid security licenses, and experience in law enforcement or security. Must be able to work day and night shifts, lift up to 50 lbs, and pass background checks.

Qualifications

• US citizen with a valid social security card.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Three years of security experience within the past five years or one year of military/National Guard experience.
• Active Level 2 TXDPS Unarmed Guard license and state driver’s license.
• American Red Cross First Aid/CPR & AED Instructor Certification or ability to obtain.
• Completion of Security Guard Officer Training and certifications.
• Strong writing skills and ability to prepare detailed written reports.

Responsibilities

• Reports to the contract manager.
• Make critical decisions independently.
• Provide oversight to shift security guards.
• Communicate with facility representatives and/or customers.
• Patrol facilities and report security or safety deficiencies.
• Conduct timed patrols and signoffs as directed.
• Respond to alarms and unauthorized access events.
• Enforce access and property control at gates and lobbies.
• Provide first aid, CPR, and assist during emergencies as necessary.
• Ensure safety requirements compliance and safe work practices.
• Occasional travel may be required; rotating shifts.
• Wear protective body armor as part of the duty uniform.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Supervisor is responsible for overseeing security officers and ensuring security officers provide routine patrol and access control functions, including property control. As directed, plans, schedules, assigns, reviews, and supervises field or office operations on an assigned shift; supervises, coordinates, and performs a full range of investigations, patrol, traffic, and/or administrative duties; maintains a good working relationship with the client. This position works day and night shifts and services AWS locations in Huston and Austin, TX.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Reports to the contract manager
• Make critical decisions independently
• Provide oversight to shift security guards
• Communicate with facility representatives and/or customers
• Patrol facilities and report all security or safety deficiencies
• Conduct timed patrols and signoffs as directed
• Respond to alarms and unauthorized access events
• Enforce access and property control policies at all gates and lobbies
• Provide first aid, CPR, and assist during emergencies as necessary
• Ensure safety requirements compliance and safe work practices
• Occasional travel may be required; willing to work rotating shifts
• Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 lbs, standing and walking, bending, twisting, and climbing up to 8 flights of stairs; 90% of work involves physical activity
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• US citizen with a valid social security card
• High school diploma or equivalent (minimum)
• One of the following experience/education criteria:
  • 3 years of security experience within the past five years
  • 1 year of military or National Guard experience
  • State-certified law enforcement education and training or police officer standards
• At least 3 years of demonstrated experience and knowledge of law enforcement or security methodologies
• American Red Cross First Aid/CPR & AED Instructor Certification (or ability to obtain)
• Active Level 2 TXDPS Unarmed Guard license
• Valid state driver’s license
• Completion of Security Guard Officer Training and certifications
• Meet and maintain security guard certifications in accordance with state or federal requirements
• Strong writing skills and ability to prepare detailed written reports
• Clear written and spoken English
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Maintain mandated training requirements per company guidance
• Ability to pass background investigation, physical, drug, and psychological screening with no disqualifiers
• Effective oral and written communication with all levels of the organization
• Strong organizational skills; ability to manage time and multiple priorities
