Role Summary

Unarmed Security Officers maintain a safe environment for clients, employees, and visitors by enforcing security policies and procedures. Responsibilities include conducting patrols, monitoring surveillance and access control systems, responding to alarms and emergencies, documenting incidents, and coordinating with law enforcement when necessary. This position is designated a Safety Sensitive Function. Officers must demonstrate professionalism, integrity, sound judgment, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Candidates must be eligible for employment by Security Engineers' Indiana-licensed security guard agency. Indiana does not issue individual guard licenses. All officers must comply with Company and client training requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

Eligible for employment by Security Engineers' Indiana-licensed security guard agency.
Minimum age 18 for unarmed posts
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Customer service experience and professional demeanor.
Valid driver's license and approved MVR when driving duties are required.
Conduct foot and vehicle patrols to identify and report security concerns.
Monitor access points and verify employee, visitor, and contractor credentials.
Enforce site procedures and post instructions.
Respond to alarms, emergencies, and security incidents.
Maintain activity logs, reports, and documentation.
Communicate effectively via radio, telephone, and in person.
Operate CCTV, access control, alarm, and other security systems.
Secure facilities, doors, and restricted areas.
Assist employees and visitors professionally.
Enforce company and client policies regarding parking, smoking, loitering, and related site rules.
Maintain a professional appearance and uniform.

Required Skills & Abilities

Minimum

Ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
Availability for weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts.
Strong observation, situational awareness, and attention to detail.
Sound judgment, de-escalation, and decision-making skills.
Basic computer and mobile device proficiency.

Education & Experience

Minimum

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

Preferred

1+ years of security, military, or law enforcement experience.
