Job summary

Prosegur is seeking an Unarmed Security Officer- Shift Supervisor to protect client premises in Maryland. The role requires patrolling, monitoring, writing DARs, and enforcing post orders, with strong leadership and communication to guide on-site staff.

The ideal candidate holds a valid MD guarding license, a high school diploma or GED, and has the stamina to stand for long periods. Physical fitness and reliability are essential for this full-time shift-based position.

Qualifications

• Must have valid and active guarding license from MD.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to stand on post for 80-90% of shift.
• Experience as site shift lead or in retail/access security preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security/safety of premises
• Lead and circulate among visitors, patrons, and employees to preserve order and protect property
• Guard, patrol, and monitor industrial or commercial premises to prevent safety hazards, theft, violence, or infractions of rules and step in when needed
• Enforce rules, regulations, policies, and procedures, and respond to emergency situations requiring security assistance and set an example
• Lead the site for officers escorting on foot or by motor vehicle to transport individuals to specified locations or to provide personal protection or to escort persons off customer property
• Review and correct detailed narrative reports and maintain daily activity reports (DARs)
• Provide assistance to customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
• Monitor for irregular or unusual activity
• Secure facility and designated areas
• Enforce facility and company policies and procedures
• Investigate and prepare reports on incidents
• Adhere to Post Orders and enforce them with staff

The person in this lead position will maintain a safe and secure indoor environment for clients, customers, contractors and other workers by patrolling, tagging indicated checkpoints, monitoring premises, writing a detailed DAR entry and occasionally performing search procedures.

• Must have a be able to stand on post for 80-90% of shift
• Must have 2 years of experience as a site shift lead, preference to those with prior retail or access security experience
• Must have open availability to work all shifts and schedules as needed
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must have good communications skills and confidence leading
• Ability to stand or walk for long periods
• Must be able to walk/run flights of stairs on a daily basis
• Ability to think clearly during crisis or high-stress periods
• Must be reliable, have a positive attitude, and uphold ethical behavior

Physical Requirements:

This position requires significant physical activity throughout the shift.

Officers must be able to:

• Walk and stand for extended periods (including completing multiple rounds and patrols of up to 1-2 miles per shift)
• Frequently climb stairs, ramps, or ladders as required by site patrol routes
• Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Maintain alertness and situational awareness during all patrols
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
