Job summary

Colonial Security Services in Little Falls, NJ is seeking an Unarmed Security Officer to safeguard people and assets. You will patrol, monitor surveillance, enforce access control, and respond to incidents under the direction of site security policies.

The role requires a valid NJ SORA Card, a high school diploma or equivalent, and excellent communication and observation skills. The position is full-time with a Monday–Friday afternoon shift.

Qualifications

• Current and valid NJ SORA Card.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous security experience preferred.
• Strong observational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to perform security duties, including standing, walking, and occasionally lifting or moving objects.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular patrols of designated areas on foot to deter unauthorized access, prevent incidents, and ensure the security of premises.
• Utilize surveillance cameras and other monitoring equipment to observe activity on the premises, identify potential security threats, and take appropriate action when necessary.
• Enforce company security policies and procedures, including access control measures, visitor management, and property protection protocols.
• Respond promptly to security incidents, alarms, and emergencies, such as medical emergencies, fires, or disturbances, and take appropriate action to resolve the situation.
• Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with employees, visitors, and customers.
• Document security-related activities, incidents, and observations in written reports, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness.
• Coordinate with local law enforcement agencies as needed to report incidents, provide assistance and facilitate investigations.
