KR Contracting, Inc. is seeking an experienced Unarmed Security Officer for Norfolk, VA. Duties include maintaining order, patrolling facilities, inspecting buildings, and responding to incidents in accordance with post orders and work statements.

A valid VA DCJS Unarmed Security Officer License and a clean background are required. Applicants must be 18+, have a high school diploma, pass security clearances, and maintain SIDA eligibility.

Qualifications

• Age 18 or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent certificate.
• 1 year of security/law enforcement experience.
• Must have VA DCJS Unarmed Security Guard License.
• Must undergo CHRC and TSA Security Threat Assessment.
• Background check clean of criminal record; no probation, no DV charges.
• Must obtain and maintain an Airport SIDA.
• Able to read/write English and pass an English assessment.
• Stand and walk for full shift; stairs may be involved.

Responsibilities

• Maintain order and security while remaining professional and courteous.
• Be on time, fully outfitted, and ready for duty.
• Adhere to customer policies and safeguard confidential information.
• Inspect interior and exterior of the building.
• Complete building inspection reports and daily log entries.
• Patrol hallways and monitor for suspicious activity.
• Respond to calls for assistance as needed; provide breaks to staff.
• Monitor parking areas and employee entrances/exits; safeguard keys and access devices.

Job Skills / Requirements

KR is accepting applications for experienced Unarmed Security Officers to provide security guard and patrol security services in Norfolk, VA.

Duties/Responsibility

Unarmed Security Officers shall perform all tasks in accordance with the duties outlined within the Post Orders and the Performance Work Statement. Duties include but are not limited to:

• Maintain order and security, and remain professional, courteous, and respectful
• Arrive on time, completely outfitted, and ready for duty
• Adhere to customer policy and maintain confidential data
• Assist in inspection of interior and exterior of building
• Complete building inspection report
• Patrol halls throughout buildings
• Monitor for suspicious items or activities
• Respond to calls for assistance, as needed
• Provide breaks/relief to security staff
• Monitor parking lot and employee entrance/exit.
• Complete daily logbook entry
• Ensure the safekeeping of all keys, access cards, fobs, and codes.

Qualifications

• Eighteen (18) years of age
• High school graduate or equivalent certificate
• One (1) year of experience in security/law enforcement work.
• Must possess a VA DCJS Unarmed Security Guard License
• Must undergo a fingerprint based Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) and Security Threat Assessment (STA) inaccordance with TSA regulations.
• Complete a background check with no clear criminal record, and not on any type of probation, no convictions or charges for any form of domestic violence
• Must obtain and maintain an Airport Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) at all times
• Shall fluently speak, read, comprehend, and compose coherent written reports in English. Must be able to pass an English Language Assessment Test.
• Read, understand, and apply printed rules and directions
• Stand and/or walk for an entire shift, run and climb stairs
